OnlyFans Model Arrested in Spain
Madison Smyth, a 20-year-old OnlyFans model, and the wife of murder suspect Johnny Smyth, was recently arrested on drug trafficking charges in Alicante, Spain. The arrest took place during a routine vehicle check by the Guardia Civil on the Costa Blanca at around 5 a.m. on the N-332 in the Punta Prima area of Torrevieja.
Details of the Arrest
The Guardia Civil noted that Smyth appeared nervous and seemed to be trying to conceal something during the stop. A search of Smyth and her vehicle, which she shared with a 22-year-old British woman, led to the discovery of crystal meth, 30 grams of cannabis resin, and 685 euros in cash. Further investigation revealed nearly a kilogram of crystal meth hidden in a gap between the vehicle's back seats.
Connection to Ongoing Murder Investigation
Smyth's involvement in legal issues extends to her husband, Johnny Smyth, 27, who was arrested in Portugal in March, related to the murder of John George. Johnny Smyth has been held in custody pending trial since his arrest. The murder case, connected to Johnny Smyth, saw the victim discovered with stab wounds and a gunshot wound, his body found near Rojales after being reported missing in mid-December. An alleged accomplice, a 32-year-old Czech national was also arrested and later released on bail in January.
Court Proceedings and Allegations
After spending 11 days in Fontcalent prison near Alicante, Madison Smyth was released on a 20,000 euro bail. Her passport was confiscated, and she was ordered to make regular court appearances. In court, she claimed to have received threats which led her to pick up drugs under duress to protect her family. She reported a particularly alarming encounter where an unidentified man threatened harm against her family, showing her photos of her home.
Public and Family Reactions
The family of John George has expressed concerns about Madison Smyth's potential role in covering up the murder, although no charges related to the murder have been filed against her. As the investigation continues, the local authorities remain vigilant in their pursuit of justice and clarity in these interconnected cases involving drugs, threats, and a high-profile murder.
