OnlyFans Influencer Alleges Role in Political Propaganda
Farha Khalidi, a popular OnlyFans model and social media influencer, has come forward with claims that she was hired to disseminate favorable information about President Joe Biden’s administration. In a candid interview, Khalidi asserted that her involvement was directed by a third-party media company purportedly working for the Biden administration. She was reportedly instructed to craft narratives praising the President's achievements, notably highlighting that "Biden created 10 million jobs."
Disclosure and Ethical Concerns
During the interview, Khalidi revealed that the contract established with the media company did not mandate her to disclose to her followers the financial compensation for her endorsements. The justification provided by the media company, according to Khalidi, was that "technically it's not a product so you don't have to disclose it's an ad," sparking a debate over the ethics of such non-disclosure in political content.
Exploring Racial Identity for Influence
The collaboration reportedly extended beyond economic achievements. Khalidi discussed how she was also encouraged to use her identity as a woman of color to support Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson during her nomination. Khalidi, however, expressed her unease with being asked to adopt a narrative that did not align with her personal views or feelings, especially being instructed on her representation by a white woman from the media company, which she found particularly inappropriate.
Scope of Influencer’s Campaigns
While Khalidi’s statements bring to light her interactions involving mainstream social media platforms like TikTok, it remains ambiguous whether she also promoted these messages directly through her OnlyFans account. Her story brings into question the delineation between personal influence and political advocacy and the role influencers play in political landscapes.
