OnlyFans Creators' Rights Issue Highlighted by Model's Struggle
In June of last year, a distress call in the form of an "STOLEN ACCOUNT" email was sent to OnlyFans customer support by Lenny*, a model whose identity and online presence were compromised by an unscrupulous agency. Her account had been hijacked, with new posts made and financial gains collected without her consent.
Agency Exploits and Creator's Loss of Control
Lenny's troubling experience began after she was scouted by Adam Kajumi, a well-known Czech online personality and the owner of the influencer marketing agency Reach Out, boasting about 1.2 million followers on TikTok. Initially promising a straightforward modeling gig, Kajumi signed her for OnlyFans content distribution that drastically deviated from her previous work on platforms like Instagram.
The contractual agreement she entered into unknowingly bound her to exclusive terms, demanding high content output without transparency. This ultimately led to her losing control over the OnlyFans account she believed she was managing.
Financial Disparities and Psychological Impact
The disparity between earnings and payouts was stark. The account managed under her name accrued about $178,000, but Lenny received only a minuscule $10,000. The psychological toll was heavy, culminating in psychiatric care following a distressing suicide attempt provoked by coerced behavior from the agency’s management.
Prevalence of Agency Mismanagement
Lenny's ordeal is not isolated. Another model, Ella*, was advised to open an OnlyFans account managed by Kajumi's agency as soon as she reached legal age. Despite an agreement to cease posting new content, the agency continued to exploit her existing content for profit without her approval. The continuity of these practices highlights a systemic issue within OnlyFans, where agencies operate multiple accounts with little regard for creator autonomy.
Call for Transparency and Fair Play on OnlyFans
The experiences shared by Lenny and Ella underscore an urgent need for OnlyFans to implement transparent and equitable management practices that genuinely uphold creators' rights and empower them rather than exploit their vulnerabilities. This account raises a critical alarm on the need to rectify oppressive practices and reestablish trust and control for creators on the platform.
