Controversy Surrounds NYPD Officer's OnlyFans Activity

NYPD officer Dannah Battino, from the 110th Precinct in Elmhurst, Queens, has come under scrutiny after it was discovered she was posting explicit content on her OnlyFans account, using the handle @gainswbattino. OnlyFans is a platform that allows content creators to earn money directly from their subscribers.

Internal Investigation Launched

The revelation of Officer Battino's activities on OnlyFans has prompted an investigation by the NYPD's Internal Affairs Bureau. Her account, which also referenced "thatcoupleaftermidnight," showcased explicit images and videos, including content with an unidentified woman. Following the backlash and circulation of these images among her colleagues, sources say Battino has since deactivated her account.

Debate Over Professional Conduct

Amidst the controversy, opinions within the law enforcement community are divided. Some argue that Battino’s conduct should lead to her dismissal, emphasizing the need for upholding standards within the force. A law enforcement source critically noted, "There’s no place in this department for that. We are paramilitary, and we have to have some kind of standard to be a police officer."

On the other hand, police union representatives have come to Battino’s defense. Patrick Hendry, President of the Police Benevolent Association, stated, "If she did not do anything illegal or anything that impacts her ability to perform her duties, then it’s nobody's business but her own. It’s shameful that her personal information is being dumped out into public view."

Concerns Over NYPD Vetting Processes

The incident has also triggered concerns regarding the NYPD's background check processes, questioning how such content was not flagged earlier. Critics worry about the potential damage to the reputation of the police force and the standards expected of its members. Officer Battino, 28, who joined the NYPD in April 2025 after serving as an FDNY emergency medical technician, is currently serving a standard two-year probation period.

The outcome of the internal investigation and any potential disciplinary actions remain uncertain as discussions about privacy, legality, and professional standards continue within the community.
