Controversy Surrounding OnlyFans Creator Kay Manuel
OnlyFans creator Kay Manuel, known for her participation in Australia's Schoolies week, is currently embroiled in controversy following allegations that she fled the country due to severe backlash. Manuel, who has openly discussed her transgender identity, claimed she needed to leave Australia after disclosing sensitive personal information about her past identity.
Discrepancies in Departure Claims
Contrary to her statements, Daily Mail Australia reports suggest that Manuel was seen at a café in Surfers Paradise around 11 a.m. on the purported day of her departure. Witnesses captured images of her engaging casually in conversation and handling payment for her coffee, putting her claim of having already flown out into question.
Challenges with OnlyFans
Further complicating Manuel's public persona is the suspension of her lucrative OnlyFans account. Previously, she dominated the platform, reportedly earning around $80,000 a month from approximately 8,000 subscribers, each paying $10 for exclusive content access. However, OnlyFans has deactivated her account, alleging violations of their terms of service or community guidelines, while also issuing refunds to all her current subscribers. Manuel has indicated that her legal team is attempting to restore her account.
Public Statements and Backlash
During last year’s Schoolies event, Manuel made headlines by revealing to 250 young men that she was pre-operative and detailed her gender history. She underwent gender confirmation surgery in May, prior to the event. Despite these admissions, there was an initial phase where she denied her gender identity when confronted with photographs from what appeared to be her old Facebook account. She later admitted that her earlier denials were part of a publicity stunt designed to draw attention to her activities at Schoolies, including fabricated stories about sexual encounters.
Self-Promotion Techniques
Manuel’s interaction with the public has not been limited to online platforms; she also used traditional advertising methods such as setting up a billboard and distributing business cards specifically targeting Schoolies participants. Additionally, her varied career includes recognition as “Crew Member of the Month” at McDonald’s in 2017, showcasing her diverse experiences spanning mainstream and adult entertainment industries.
