Mystery surrounds the death of Taiwanese model Iris Hsieh, known for her appearances on OnlyFans, following her discovery deceased in a bathtub on October 22. The case, which initially started as a sudden death investigation, has escalated to a murder inquiry, as confirmed by Kuala Lumpur police chief Fadil Marsus.
Malaysian Rapper Namewee Arrested in Connection
Following the tragic event, Malaysian rapper Namewee, born Wee Meng Chee, was arrested by authorities. Namewee, who found Hsieh and made the emergency call, is under intense scrutiny by law enforcement. The police also discovered nine blue pills in the hotel room, suspected to be ecstasy, leading to further charges of illegal drug use and possession against him. Despite testing positive for various substances including amphetamines and THC, Namewee has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Namewee's Pledge to Cooperate
In the wake of the allegations and subsequent arrest, Namewee took to his Instagram account on November 5 to assure his followers and the victim's family of his cooperation with the police. "I won’t run away," Namewee declared, expressing his determination to provide clarity and answers regarding the circumstances that led to Hsieh's death.

While awaiting further post-mortem and toxicology results to determine the exact cause of Hsieh's death, Namewee has been released on bail for the drug-related charges.
