Controversy Surrounds NYPD Officer's OnlyFans Account

New York Police Department (NYPD) officer Dannah Battino is at the center of controversy and potentially faces termination after it was discovered she operated an OnlyFans account, a platform often associated with adult content. Battino, who also served as an emergency medical technician with the New York City Fire Department (FDNY), is accused of indecent exposure because of the nature of the content she posted on her account.

Internal Affairs Investigation Prompted

According to NYPD sources, Battino could face an investigation by the department's Internal Affairs Bureau, which reviews cases involving officer misconduct. The scrutiny followed after images from her OnlyFans account began circulating within the NYPD, subsequently leading her to deactivate the account.

Disclosure of Income Sources Under Scrutiny

The situation has raised concerns about disclosure practices as NYPD’s strict vetting processes necessitate the disclosure of all income sources. A former high-ranking official expressed surprise that Battino might not have reported her OnlyFans earnings in her NYPD application, which could be grounds for dismissal.

Support from Police Benevolent Association

In defense of Officer Battino, Patrick Hendry, President of the Police Benevolent Association, stated that Battino has neither committed illegal acts nor engaged in behavior that impairs her duties as an officer. Hendry emphasized, "If she did not do anything illegal or anything that impacts her ability to perform her duties, then it’s nobody’s business but her own." He also condemned the sharing of Battino's personal content among NYPD personnel as "shameful."

Financial Implications and Ongoing Review

While it is unclear how much Battino earned from her OnlyFans activities, the platform is known to potentially offer substantial income through subscriptions and tips. This comes into context especially when compared against the starting salary of a rookie NYPD officer, which stands at $60,884.

The NYPD is currently reviewing the implications this situation might have on Battino's future with the department.
